Creative arts projects

We organise all sorts of creative arts projects, often with youth groups, involving drama, circus skills, dance, and costume design. There's no limit to the possibilities! Here are some examples of projects we have created.

Stockwell Festival parade:
CircArts workshop leaders designed a six week programme working with young people recruited from the local primary school through circus skills ‘taster sessions’ during school hours.

The participants learned stilt walking, created a group stilt dance, and designed and made ‘Birds of Paradise’ costumes. The group were a fantastic addition of colour and height to the parade, and broke into a stilt ‘bird’ dance each time the parade paused - to the delight of the public gathered on the parade route.

Salmon Youth Centre:
A CircArts project with young people in Bermondsey. The group met weekly to research the history of the local area and devise a performance. They developed skills in drama, circus, dance, costume making, set buidling, and video. The resulting 45 minute performance delighted and entertained a local audience (see past projects).

"I’d like to take the opportunity to thank you so much for your fantastic contribution to the Do Something Different Weekend 2009. Both your juggling workshops and itinerants acts were a huge success, and we were delighted to work with CircArts again."
